Albert Akowuah

Albert Akowuah has over sixteen years extensive experience in the upstream Oil and Gas industry with specialty in Finance, Accounting, Strategy, Corporate and Departmental Performance Management, Petroleum Economics, Contracts Management, Project Appraisals, Petroleum Agreement Negotiations,

Local Content Administration and Crude Oil Lifting Agreement negotiations. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana. (ICAG) and possess Master of Science (MSc) degree in Oil and Gas Management (Finance and Investments Option) with special concentration in oil and gas strategy formulation and implementation from the Coventry University, United Kingdom.

He has hands-on experience in Strategy Formulation and Implementation, Performance Management, Petroleum Agreement Negotiations, Finance and Accounting. He is also very knowledgeable in providing advice on Local Content issues in the Oil and Gas industry. He is very diligent and enthusiastic about his work and quick to adapt to new ideas and changes. He has a pleasant disposition with an outstanding inter-personal relationship which has enhanced his skills as an excellent team player.

As a Chartered Accountant and a practitioner of Strategy in the Oil and Gas industry, Albert has a proven record of personal qualities of integrity, confidentiality and dedication to his professional duty. He is endowed with creative and analytical aptitude and is credited with the development of relevant operating system manuals as well as templates currently being used within the Strategy Department of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).

Albert has served on various committees including the Government Negotiation Team (GNT) for negotiating various Petroleum Agreements, Ministerial Advisory Committee on Local Content and Local Participation which drafted the current Oil and Gas Local Content Policy and Regulations, State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) Bill Drafting Committee, Energy Policy Drafting Committee. He has also been a member of many committees for evaluating contract proposals.

Currently, he is the Manager in charge of the Strategy Department of GNPC after holding various positions in Finance and Accounting, Economic Evaluation as well as Corporate Planning.
